Painting before knowing the destination
Born in 1957 into a family of painters and musicians, Catherine Sénéchal began painting at fifteen. Self-taught, she first learned by looking closely at Caravaggio and Corot, before freeing her gesture in the studios of Catherine and Corinne Raynal.
Oil, paper, cardboard, wood and reclaimed materials now form an immediately recognisable language. From Paris to imagined interiors, she does not reproduce reality: she fragments, colours and recomposes it as emotion.

Reality, recomposed
Colour becomes sensation, collage preserves fragments of memory and geometry orders abundance. This is joyful painting, yet never decorative by default: the challenge remains the balance between energy and silence.

From Paris to international collections
Exhibiting since 2000, Catherine takes part in major Paris art events, while her works have joined collections in Taiwan, Dubai, Germany, the United States and Japan.
